It is with much regret that due to COVID-19 virus, United Spaniel Association has decided to cancel the Open Show on 17th April 2021. The health and wellbeing of Judges, Exhibitors and Committee are important to us. The Judges and KC have been informed and the Judges offered 15th April 2023. We hope to celebrate the 50th Anniversary at next year’s show on 23rd April 2022 at Sports Connexion, Coventry. Stay safe and well everyone.

SHOW GUNDOG WORKING CERTIFICATEUnited Spaniel Association will be running a Show Gundog Working Certificate on Friday 13th November 2015 at New Farm, Norton, Nr Evesham by kind permission of Norman and Sandra Onens.
This is a chance to convert your Show Champion into a Champion. The event is run on beat crops with pheasants and partridge as the main quarry. Dogs will be worked singly and will be expected to cover the ground, find and flush game and retrieve to hand. Dogs are not required to be steady but must be under control. Those dogs which achieve this will be required to do a water retrieve. The water retrieve is done with dummies. Schedules will be available online on our working page or from the Working Secretary Email We are now taking bookings for our Annual Seminar on 6th December 2015 at Baginton Village Hall, near Coventry CV8 3AB.

The Show Gundog Working Certificate was held at New Farm, Norton Nr Evesham on 14th November 2014. Judges were John Carter and Will Taylor.  There were 8 dogs entered, including 6 WSS, 1 Clumber and 1 Sussex. Driving to the venue in pouring rain and dark clouds we were concerned that the event would have to be called off as the birds will not fly in the rain and visibility is poor. The forecast said that the rain would clear before 10.00 and it was good to know that they had it right. The rain cleared and the eventually the sun came out and we were treated to a beautiful sunny and warm day and unimaginable an hour earlier. Janey Sutherland with Sh Ch Julita Rezanella of Jacranella, managed to pass both the land and water requirements of the Show Gundog Working Test.  One of 4 dogs who passed the land test and went to the water Rezanella was the only one who retrieved from the water. As a Show Champion the SGWC makes her into a full Champion.
The Seminar on 2nd November has been cancelled. There were just not enough Tickets sold to make it a viable proposition. The change of date from December seems to have been a factor so this will be reviewed for next year.
