Our program for the day is as follows:
9.30 Arrival, registration and coffee.
10.00 Welcome by the Chairman of United Spaniel Association
10.15 Working with police dogs . Terry Arnett.
How police dogs are trained and the many varied roles they fulfil.
11.15 Coffee and Cookies
11.30 Canine Massage Kim Rufus RVN.
A talk and demonstration on canine massage and its benefits for your dog .
12.45 Lunch.
During the lunch break there will be a raffle and the opportunity to buy some dog items from the stand provided by Sally and her team.
2.00 Is your dog a TV star? Sally Marchant
How advertising and TV canine stars are trained and how to make your pet famous.
There will be a break for tea and cake during the afternoon session.
4.00 (approx) Thank you - and a safe journey home.
There will be time for questions after each speaker. If you have a specific question for any of our speakers and would like to submit it beforehand, please include details along with your ticket application.
The United Spaniel Association is pleased to welcome everyone to our seminars – not just sporting spaniel enthusiasts. TERRY ARNETT
Was a serving police officer with the West Midlands police and has trained and worked with police dogs for many years in all their different roles. The diversity of work which police dogs carry out is truly amazing from drug sniffing to cadaver searching. His training methods are useful for training any dog.
Terry works for the charity Pilgrim Bandits who support injured servicemen, through providing prosthesis and adventure outlets to help them with rehabilitation. The Pilgrim Bandits are our chosen charity for profits from the day at this seminar.
KIM RUFUS
Is not only qualified as a canine masseuse but is also a registered veterinary nurse. She is the owner of Macoby Canine Massage which is a form of natural pain relief for dogs. her talk will discus the benefits of clinical canine massage therapy as well as giving a demonstration. There will be time for questions at the end.
SALLY MARCHANT
Sally graduated with honours in ANIMAL BEHAVIOUR AND TRAINING and has been teaching and demonstrating her training techniques since 1997. She runs a successful business providing dogs for TV, film, stage and photo shoots under the name of Dalysdogs.
Sally will talk and demonstrate how to start training your dog to assess if he has the potential to be a star!.
Refreshments are available throughout the day but if anyone has particular dietary needs, please indicate this when completing the application. A hot meal or vegetarian alternative will be available.
